NFL Draft Team Spotlight - Lions

The Detroit Lions are a team that has a lot of different needs on offense and defense.  Last year the Lions picked up 3 really good players in Stafford (QB), Pettigrew (TE), and Delmas (S), they were able to come right in and contribute to the team.  This year they need to have another good draft to build on it and help the Lions have a winning season.   I will show you 2 players that are being projected as a top 5 pick and tell you who the Lions will pick.
The first player is Gerald McCoy from the University of Oklahoma.  I cannot make an argument as to why the Lions will not pick McCoy other than the fact that he would not create the buzz in Detroit like Ndamukong Suh would.  Either one of these players would have a great impact on the Lions defensive line.  The defensive line is a position the Lions have neglected in recent drafts.  In the last 7 year the Lions have only drafted 2 players on their defensive line with picks in the 2nd round and none in the 1st round.  They should learn from the Patriot’s who drafted Ty Warren 13th overall in 2003 and then picked Vince Wilfolk 21st overall the following year.  Last I checked that is still working out really well for the Patriot’s and now it time for the Lions to follow their lead.  They will pick Ndamukong Suh from the University of Nebraska.

In MY lifetime I can't remember a more dominant Defensive lineman in any college game then when he Suh played against Texas in the big 12 'ship. It looked like when a bunch of seventh graders are playing ball and one of them brought there cousin who's 18! The craziest thing is that after Suh declared for the draft the Huskers D-coordinator let out that their system was not designed to give Suh such access to the QB/RB slots (unlike TCU's Jerry Hughs who a had defense designed around him)! Go Big Red!
