Tiger Out For The Count!

Tiger Woods withdraws from The Players Championship.

Tiger was not himself today. He struggled to walk fully upright, get out of the Bermuda rough, and on the seventh hole picked up his ball and called it quits. Tiger reports that he believes that he has a bulged disk in his neck. Could this be due to the huge amount of stress that he is under, or could it be hitting the weights to hard? Only Tiger knows the answer but I would be easily convinced that it’s a combination of both and feel that Tiger needs to take a good amount of time off to settle down his life and get his mind and body back in order.

So what’s now at stake? Well, now with Tiger out of the running, Phil Mickelson has a chance to steal and take over the number one spot in the world golf rankings from Tiger. This can only happen if Phil wins the tournaments and now sees himself standing in 7th place with a lot of work to do and a tough canvas to paint on at the TPC at Sawgrass. If the lefty can make some magic this will be the first time in his career that he will have claimed the number one spot in his career.

With more coverage to come…until then hit um long and straight!
