Jazz Struggles

With the Jazz suffering the worst losing streak this season fans are wondering what's going on? I know that our energy just isn't there and without Deron it makes it even more difficult to have the fire power needed to win against anyone. We were able to squeak one out against Minnesota at home but the previous six on the road as well as tonights performance in golden state has been a lack luster effort. In my opinion it is not just the offensive energy that is missing it is our defense.

We have gone away from our strict man to man defense and experimented with 2-3 zones and I even saw a look at a 1-2-2 tonight. What the Jazz are doing that is really hurting them is switching up the defense. But it's not just the different zone/man looks that we are giving, whats different is our new version of man.

If you have followed the Jazz for the last few years or even back in the 90's you would know that Utah is know for tenacious man to man defense and a defense that Fights Through Every Pick. Utah did not use to switch on picks and that is something that we have adopted as the season has gone on. Im not saying that switching a pick is a bad thing but what we are doing isn't a switch, its a lazy form of a hedge. Then when the offensive player advances past our hedging defender both defenders get lost and either try to double team the player or let him blow by for an easy one. We are literally getting picked apart and letting offenses have their way with us. The Jazz are giving up 105 points per game. This cannot happen if we are going to consider ourselves an elite western conference team. If we can fix this huge problem then our offense will follow and feed off our regained toughness on D! Andrei, Raja, and C.J. show us what we know you can do... lead this team to what opponents fear...Strangling Defense!

@ Ice Man, I think that excuse is over played as far as players not wanting to come here. I think there are that 5% that have to live in a HUGE city, but most guys find that as far as the city goes, it isn't bad.
Now if you are talking about because of the Jazz organization, well then yea. That makes a little more sense.
