NFL Team Spotlight - Seahawks

The Seahawks most glaring need has to come from the offensive line. Since 1997 they Seahawks have had one of the best Left Tackles in the game in Walter Jones. Big Walt has decided to call it a career and retire this year, leaving the Seahawks with a large void in their offensive line. Look for them to draft the highest rated LT on the draft board.

At this point in the draft the best LT left is Russell Okung from Oklahoma State. Another player to consider is Trent Williams from Oklahoma. The pick will end up being Russell Okung from Oklahoma State. The last time the Seahawks drafted a LT this high it was Walter Jones! And he is on is way to the Hall of Fame. Interesting stat to look at is the team that gave up the fewest sacks was the Colts (13) and the team with the forth fewest sacks was the Saints (18)! The Seahawks gave up more than 40 sacks last year and with the addition of Okung that number with decrease.

When he pulls and goes as lead blocker right before the 1min. mark, he has a great "two step" to get into position fast! Is there a chance he could go higher?

Oh yeah I am thinking that he could end up as high as 2nd overall to the Lions... If he goes that high it is because the Lions will not want to pay a DT $8 to $9 million a year... when the top DT in the league Casey Hampton ($7 mil. per year), Vince Wilfork ($8 mil. per year), and Jay Ratliff ($5 mil. per year) are barely making that. I think he would be a great pick for the Chiefs but I don't see it happening with Scott Pioli having the inside track on Bulaga. What do you think? Also that block is awesome! He completely takes that guy out of the play!
