This month's restaurant review is Salt City Burger Co. Salt City Burger Co. has two locations 401 W. 500 S. Bountiful UT and 9176 S. Village Shop Dr. Sandy UT. At Salt City Burger Co. you will see that these guys really love the art of a good burger. Our waitress said "we feel hamburgers are the greatest culinary gift to mankind. That’s why we buy only the finest USDA Choice Beef available and grind it right here in the restaurant and cook on our own custom-made char-broiler that sears in the greatest flavors a hamburger has to offer." If that doesn't make you salivate, maybe the bacon cheeseburger will. They grind up the bacon into their meat to ensure a top quality, juicy, flavorful All American loving burger. Also they offer smorgasbord of fresh toppings such as lettuce, pickles, onions, salsa, relish, and a blend of sauces to name a few. The french fries are fresh-cut, the onion rings are homemade and the malts made Triple Thick from the richest ice cream around.
I suggest getting the dinner special which consists of a 1/3 lb. burger and a choice of fresh cut fries or onion rings, and two sides. I chose the melted blue cheese and caramelized onions as my sides and then loaded it up at the smorgasbord to my liking. The burger had great flavor, but the fries were just marginal. Five Guys still has the best fries.
Another good meal choice is the mixed green salad. My accomplice chose this green beauty. It is made with romaine and iceberg lettuces which is interesting enough in and of itself but also includes, sliced avocado, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and hearts of palm (looks like thinly sliced mozzarella sticks). The grilled chicken addition is also a must to experience this burst of flavorful majesty. This salad with its uniqueness and great color poses as a great health conscious offer for your sweetheart at this grease pit.
Overall the service was great, the atmosphere was classy and all for around $16 ( $6.99 burger, $7.99 salad) its a temptation thats hard not to give into.
