Lucky Number 9 for the Jazz!

The Jazz are currently sitting in the 9 place with the New York Knicks pick. Now the NBA draft position is done by a lottery, taking the bottom 14 teams in the league and placing odds to them according to there record. The team with the worst record has the highest odds of getting the 1st overall pick. To give you a quick run down team by team odds:

1. Nets 25% 8. Clippers 2.3%
2. Timberwolves
19.9% 9. Jazz 2.2%
3. Kings
15.6% 10. Pacers 1.1%
4. Warriors
10.4% 11. Hornets 0.8%
5. Wizards 10.3% 12. Grizzlies 0.7%

Ok so I get it... the Jazz only have a 2.2% chance of landing the 1st overall pick... but its better than nothing!

Looking at the history of the team sitting in 9th before the lottery show only one team getting lucky since 2005. The team it happened to was the Chicago Bulls in 2008 when they landed the first overall pick and got Derrick Rose. Dream scenario: The Jazz get the 1st overall pick and draft.... Evan Turner From Ohio State!!

Evan Turner would be the best pick for the Jazz because of his potential to be a star in this league! Be on the look out for my next post where I continue my dream of "if the Jazz landed the 1st pick in the draft!"
