Boring Final Series

Two of the league’s most decorated teams are set to meet yet again in the NBA Finals. The two teams have a combined 32 championships and account for more than half of the championships ever played just between the two of them. This duo brings us back the feelings of disappointment as it did in their last series of 2008. The Lakers got outplayed and outhustled in 2008, and will most definitely have something to prove to the world that they will not get blown out of any game in the series and also believe that they have the most dominant team. Ron Artest is this year’s new defensive specialist who will match up Paul Pierce in the series, he also packs a punch on the offensive end bringing key baskets at crucial times (Suns game 6 buzzer beater). The tough task for the Lakers will be who will guard Rajon Rondo? Rondo is a completely different player than in 2008. Pierce states “in 2008 we had Rondo as a role player who started. We looked to him to run the offense but in crucial times Kevin or I would look for the ball. This year it’s different, he is our leader”.

I’m not excited for the series, it’s overplayed and for some reason the NBA thinks it’s a good matchup time and time again. For all of us not in these two markets we don’t care about the legacy. Show us something new! I hope Fisher gets schooled by Rondo and is forced into early retirement.

I really don't love either team... I hate the Lakers so I guess that means I want Boston to win, but I agree. It looks like Rondo is really becoming a star, so I think that will be what I keep my eye on. Yawn.

I could not disagree with you more. Now I will admit that I do not love either team... but this couldn't get any better. In my opinion its much better than what it could have been... Phoenix Suns vs Orlando Magic?!! Would you call that more interesting? The NBA is better when the historic franchises are good. Its the same in MLB and NFL. Every baseball fan is interested in the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees rather they like them or not... rather they want to see them win or lose. The NFL is better when the Colts, Steelers, Patriots, and Cowboys are good. There are some sporting franchises that have a polarizing affect on fans and like it or not the Lakers and the Celtics both have that affect. Just because the home team isn't in it doesn't mean fans won't be interested in the series. Come Ice get with it.
