More Workouts For The Jazz Tomorrow!

The Jazz are now off and rolling with their workouts this weekend. Yesterday they had Greg Monroe in for a personal workout and this Sunday will be the start of many more to come. On Sunday they are having the following players in for a workout:

Al-Farouq Aminu - Wake Forest
6'8" SF/PF Sophomore

SEASON
TEAM MIN PTS REB AST TO A/T STL BLK PF FG% FT% 3P% PPS
2008-2009 WAKE 29.0 12.9 8.2 1.5 2.6 .57 1.0 1.2 2.6 .516 .671 .179 1.42
2009-2010 WAKE 31.3 15.8 10.7 1.3 3.2 .41 1.4 1.4 2.9 .447 .698 .273 1.31

Prior to this past season he was projected to be a top 5 pick but due to a lack of progress in his numbers that hasn't held true. He is now projected to be picked anywhere from 5 to 12 overall in this years draft.

Draft websites compare him to Josh Smith and Thaddeus Young. He is an athletic and super long combo forward with great mismatch potential. Runs the floor, competes hard on the defensive end and is an excellent rebounder. Needs to improve ball-handling and perimeter shooting skills. Big upside and is extremely young at that.

Xavire Henry - Kansas
6'6" SG Freshmen

SEASON TEAM MIN PTS REB AST TO A/T STL BLK PF FG% FT% 3P% PPS
2009-2010 KU 27.5 13.4 4.4 1.5 1.9 .77 1.5 .5 1.8 .458 .783 .418 1.36

He is projected to be a late lottery pick in this years draft.

Xavier was a big surprise for the Jayhawks this past season. As a freshman he was a big contributor for the Jayhawk team. Most websites compare him to Martell Webster of Portland. He is a swingman with good size and an excellent frame. Possesses excellent scoring instincts and deep range on his jump shot. Smart, unselfish player who understands the game. Good, not great athlete who may struggle to create his own shot at the next level. Lateral quickness is questionable. Mature complimentary player.

Luke Babbitt
- Neveda
6'7" SF Sophomore

SEASON TEAM MIN PTS REB AST TO A/T STL BLK PF FG% FT% 3P% PPS
2008-2009 NEV 32.6 16.9 7.4 1.4 1.9 .72 .7 .7 1.8 .456 .864 .429 1.35
2009-2010 NEV 37.1 21.9 8.9 2.1 2.4 .89 1.0 .8 2.6 .500 .917 .416 1.48

He is projected to be a late lottery pick in this years draft.

He is an exceptionally skilled offensive small forward, very smooth with his ability to create shots in mid-range and knock down 3-pointers efficiently. Smart, active player with good passing skills and a strong basketball IQ. defender even at college level. Lacks ideal physical tools, but is only a sophomore.

Gordon Hayward - Butler
6'8" SF Sophomore

SEASON TEAM MIN PTS REB AST TO A/T STL BLK PF FG% FT% 3P% PPS
2008-2009 BUT 32.7 13.1 6.5 2.0 1.7 1.19 1.5 .9 2.0 .479 .815 .448 1.61
2009-2010 BUT 33.5 15.5 8.2 1.7 2.3 .73 1.1 .8 2.1 .464 .829 .294 1.53

He is projected to be a mid first round pick in the draft this year.

Most websites compare him to Mike Miller. NCAA tournament darling has great size and a superb skill-level. Smart player who can create his own shot and has nice potential as a perimeter shooter. Can pass, rebound and will have no problem operating within a team setting. Just an average athlete with a frame that may struggle to carry much more weight. Defensive potential looks limited.

Damion James - Texas
6'8" SF Senior
SEASON TEAM MIN PTS REB AST TO A/T STL BLK PF FG% FT% 3P% PPS
2006-2007 TEX 25.9 7.6 7.2 .9 1.5 .62 .6 1.2 2.9 .493 .595 .091 1.32

2008-2009 TEX 29.5 15.4 9.2 1.3 2.3 .59 1.0 .9 2.7 .468 .684 .326 1.24
2009-2010 TEX 30.3 18.0 10.3 1.0 2.0 .48 1.7 1.2 2.9 .501 .674 .383 1.46

He is projected to be a mid first round pick this year.

Tough-minded forward with an NBA body and solid athleticism. Excellent rebounder who plays exceptionally hard. Very good in transition. Made significant strides becoming a more capable perimeter player in his senior season. Solid defender. Not great in any one area, sees most of his minutes at the power forward position.

Ryan Thompson - Houston
6'6" SG Senior
SEASON TEAM MIN PTS REB AST TO A/T STL BLK PF FG% FT% 3P% PPS
2006-2007 RID 32.6 8.3 5.3 2.9 2.2 1.31 1.3 .2 2.5 .403 .769 .247 1.17
2007-2008 RID 33.9 15.0 6.2 3.4 2.5 1.36 1.7 .6 2.8 .537 .746 .438 1.52
2008-2009 RID 38.3 18.0 6.5 3.2 2.7 1.21 1.8 .4 2.1 .509 .773 .422 1.49
2009-2010 RID 36.6 17.2 5.0 2.8 2.2 1.28 1.2 .3 2.0 .422 .818 .324 1.39

He is projected to go late in the 2nd round. Interesting note he is the brother to Jason Thompson who plays for the Kings.

He is consider a do it all type of swingman player. He credited for having a high basketball IQ and plays an "intelligent brand of basketball". Is know for being able to shoot at a high percentage. He will struggle in the NBA to score on faster players. He has below average lateral quickness on defense.

Great find! I would love to see Babbitt in a Jazz offense! I got to watch him a few times this year, and really liked his game... reminds me of Eddie Jones in his prime!
