Jefferson...Welcome to the Beehive State!
In a mad search for a big man down low to replace the Boozer, the Jazz acquired Al Jefferson from the Minnesota Timberwolves. We are in for a real treat with Al, he can shoot, post up, rebound, and play defense (at least better than Boozer). He actually PLAYS DEFENSE and is only 25. This all happened for the Jazz by giving up two future first-round draft picks and our bench center Kosta Koufos who was a D League all star but never panned out to be anything in the NBA. I feel that we made out like bandits on this deal!
Jefferson averaged 17.1 points and 9.3 rebounds last season for the Timberwolves. This was a down year for him due to major knee injury he received in February of 2009. K.O.C. said this about Jefferson. "We are happy to acquire a young power player who has developed into one of the best low-post scorers in the league. We gave up significant assets to obtain Al and we look forward to watching him progress with our team."
Kevin, hats off to you for getting this done and allowing the pick and roll to continue in Utah. Jazz fans call off the dogs everything is going to be okay, and season ticket holders No Need to sell off your season at a discounted rate this year. We are contenders for yet another year!

I really love this trade. But you can't stop here... I think mathews is too expensive, but the Jazz Brass need to swallow the poison and sign him or go after a mid level exception wing. Unless Hayward is ready for some dramatic minutes this year! Trial by fire?
INCREDIBLE INTERVIEW WITH THE WOLVES BEAT WRITER! SAYS JEFFERSON IS ONE OF THE HARDEST WORKING PLAYERS HE HAS EVER BEEN AROUND. SAYS HIS character LEAVES NOTHING DESIRED.
