NFL Trade - Draft Update
Did that just happen! The Eagles traded Donavan McNabb to rival Washington Redskins!!@ Not sure I completely understand the reason behind this move but what do I know. Sure it makes some sense for the Eagles since they now have the 37th overall pick in the 2nd round of the draft but at the expense of making a team they play 2 times a year way better. McNabb may not be in his prime but he makes a decent team like the Redskins playoff contenders over night. I was completely cheering for the Raiders to make a move for McNabb. The reason for this update is because this trade affects the draft in a large way. Here is a quick look at how I would adjust the draft to this point given this trade.
Redskins: Old pick – QB Jimmy Clausen from Notre Dame
New pick – OT Russell Okung from Oklahoma
This is a great pick for the Redskins because the best Left Tackle in the game to replace Chris Samuels.
Chiefs: Pick stays the same – OT Bryan Bugala from University of Iowa
Seahawks: Old pick – OT Russell Okung
New pick – S Eric Berry
Even though OT bigger need, Berry is too good to pass on. The remaining OT would all be considered a reach for them at this point. Also look for team to possibly trading down. Berry does fit a need though seeing that the Seahawk’s had the 3rd worst pass defense in the league (with regards to yard surrendered).
Browns: Old pick – S Eric Berry
New pick – QB Jimmy Clausen
I know what you are thinking… they just tried to make hometown college boy Brady Quinn the face of the franchise and he failed and is now in Denver. So what makes Clausen any better… to be honest I do not know but I can tell you the Jake “Too Old” Delhomme is 35 years old and Seneca Wallace is no spring chicken either at 29 years old. That means those two guys are the Browns short term plan and now Clausen is their long term plan for QB.
That is all folks… Look out for more posts on the Draft this week!

what happens now with the Eagles QB situation? Is it Vic?
It is going to be Kevin Kolb job, unless he is horrible. Vick doesn't make as much sense there since he would only be their short term answer, while Kolb provides them with long term one. The sad thing about this is that the Redskin in my opinion are now a better team then the Eagles, due to this trade.
Will Vick ever be a starter again? If so Where?
I am not sure about this year but next year he will be a free agent. Look out for a possible draft day trade with the Bills. The Bills new Head Coach Chan Gailey loved QB that could run during his time at Georgia Tech... Another NFL QB that succeeded under Gailey was Kordell Stewart of the Steelers. Stewart's best years were when Gailey was the Offensive Coordinator. Just a thought
hmmmm.....
