The Cougars are out! And so are plenty of other college football programs across America. For a lot of teams, today and next Saturday are spring games/practices that are open to the public!
I will be headed down to our own "Happy Valley" to take in all that I can to try and hold myself over till Fall!
I will be giving a detailed report when I get back but as for now I'll let you know what I'll be looking at.
D- line: As mentioned in the S.C.(Sports-Cave) "stat of the day" a few days back, BYU lost the entire starting d-line. UN-believable. We do have some returning missionaries and a few that got some PT last year, but this will be a huge point of interest.
QB Battle: Jake Heaps and Riley Nelson! Wow! A QB battle at BYU! This hasn't Happened since John Beck earned the starting job while still under Gary Crowton! I know everyone thinks this is Heaps Job, he being the highest rated QB ever to come to BYU (Save that good for nothing Ben Olson!), But I really think it's Riley's job to lose. His agility, athleticism, speed, and accuracy make him a huge commodity. On the other hand having one of the top ranked QBs out of high school riding the pine or red shirting might just be plain dumb!
There are a few other points I will be looking at (Hopefully an improved corner situation), but I can barley type a strait line I'm so excited. So until tonight...

I love the Utes but I am really interested to see what a big time recruit can do in a smaller conference. I am not attempting to disrespect the Mtn West but it is not every year a top 5 recruit comes to town. The sad thing is that is the norm for many BCS schools though. Jake better deliver! From what I have read Jake has an NFL caliber arm, something no Mtn West school ever has. I am really looking forward to hearing about how Jake plays.
