That Just Happened!

This is going to be a new little section on the Sports-Cave that we'll be doing. There will be at least one post every month that is just simply about the strange things that make you stand back and say “that just happened!” Here is the first of many posts…

Have you ever done something that right in the middle of doing it you stop and wonder to yourself, “What the heck am I doing”! Well that tends to happen to me on occasion, take the other day as an example. I called my wife while we were both at our respective jobs. Now understand my job allows me the freedom to talk on the phone if needs be but wife’s work is not that way.

We started our conversation the same as any other one… talking about how our day was going and what we were working on. Then mid statement my wife starts using a 12 inch whisper! I am not kidding! And to be honest it sounded as though it was more of a 3 inch whisper… And of course this only makes me more interested in what she is saying, like she is about to tell me she won a million dollars or something wonderful along those lines. In order to hear what she is saying I am pushing my cell phone into my head so hard it feels as though I am making contact with the other side! What she said was not the wonderful news of winning money but rather just continuing our conversation about what we were up to. Then she stops talking and now it is my turn to respond. Instead of talking normal I started to respond with my own 3 inch whisper and continued to do so for about a minute!

I wish I could tell you that I did it to be funny and poke fun at my wife but that was not the case. I got caught in the moment and thought my wife and I were in Mission Impossible with Tom Cruise! Probably the best part is that my wife didn’t even say anything to me. We both just continued to have our secret meeting with Tom Cruise! Finally I realized what a fool I was making of myself and stopped. Please tell me this has happen to someone else??@!!
