James Augustine on the Jazz?

James Augustine(6-10, 230lbs.) led all scores at the first Jazz Summer game in Orlando. (20 pts.)

Out of college in 2006 he was a possible first round pick but slid to an early 11th 2nd round pick to Orlando.

Can he fill a roll for the Jazz? Hope so.

This is from his Draftexpress.com bio back in 2006:

"Offensively, he has a few decent moves he can go to in the paint, but gets most of his baskets simply by being in the right place at the right time, often in transition. Moving off the ball is where Augustine truly excels, and it would not be a surprise at all to see him end up becoming an excellent player to run the pick and roll with. He’s a fairly intelligent player with good hands and quick feet, so once he sets the (very solid) pick and rolls to the basket he will usually finish emphatically around the hoop if he’s not being too fiercely contested."

If we don't take him, someone else will!
This is from the Orlando buzz blog:
"James Augustine will be on an NBA roster next season.  If not, the only potential explanation is collusion by the owners to keep him out.  His hustle and effort had the gym buzzing.  Is it too late to add him back to the Magic roster?"

Don't miss on this guy!

I listened to an interview this morning on 1280 with Scott Layden and he said Augustine is hard worker... that goes right inline with the Orlando blog of him being a hustle guy. I don't want to get too excited though cause it is just summer league... but none the less it is something to keep an eye on

Has been pretty hush-hush the last 2 games... needs a big game today versus the Nets(D. Favors).
